Janice Morris
Cameron, WIBanner Title: Petunias on Main
“I was intrigued by this project last year… but I realized I had
‘missed the boat’. So I am very happy to participate this year. My
favorite media is watercolor, so it was somewhat daunting to work in
another media. After I quit resisting the concept, I enjoyed it! In
thinking about Rice Lake I could not resist the Petunia City theme. The
concept of original art for banners is a fantastic idea. It was
challenging and fun to complete.” |

Chase Eric Paulson
Chetek, WIBanner Title: Portal
Inspiration for ‘Portal’ came from the concept of time travel and a
yearning to “get out of the woods”. Referring to his creative style, the
twenty-year-old artist said, “Honestly, I never plan my work. If I did, it
would never get finished.” Chase works in digital audio and photo as well
as illustration. |

Jessie Pautsch
Rice Lake, WIBanner Title: A Rose for Opening Night
Sixteen-year-old Rice Lake student Jessie Pautsch was inspired to
contribute to this year’s ArtScape display by her piano teacher, Mrs. Olah.
She said, “I’ve been into art since I was very little but I’ve always
liked to paint or draw people.” However, when she happened upon a pair of
ballerina slippers, they yelled “Paint us!” |

Ellen Reichert
Cameron, WIBanner Title: Tulips
Seventh grade student Ellen Reichert wanted to create a banner
depicting her mom’s favorite flowers: tulips. Ellen loves to draw and
paint, especially flowers. |
